This geometric style is fairly recent to me. I discovered it at college two years ago, looking to take my interest in drawing people to a whole new level. Inspired by a great artist, Josh Bryan, whose triangulation portraits are sublime, the style was something that I was willing to try out for myself after carefully observing his technique and many other artists. My initial process: I would lightly sketch from a photo reference using pencil on paper as accurately as I can, adjusting proportions and then I'd examine light and value in the reference that'll determine the size and space between individual lines I would create. There isn't really a mathematical equation of some sort, I just mainly go with the flow of my hand and boldly but attentively free-hand draw over the pencil sketch with pen and ink.
